Hey Boo, 2022
Hey Boo is an installation work that sees performers greeting visitors with a cheeky “hello” as they enter a gallery, whilst dancing to music in their headphones. Inspired by the afternoon tea concerts held by dance pioneer Ted Shawn at his farm Jacobs Pillow, in which his dancers wore bathrobes and served tea to patrons before performances, the work questions the role of the performer and service they provide.
